“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” – DDP (Maybe also Henry Ford) 😉
Welcome back to the first day of the rest of our lives! I weighed in at 286, which is down from around 315 at the start of the year. I’m motivated to reach my goal of 250 after 90 days of beast mode. Today, I stepped up and worked out twice, hit 18k steps and logged all of my food into Chronometer. I really can’t wait to see how much of a beast I can become!
Day 1 is easy though. Though I have changed my mindset since the start of the year and actually suck with my exercise and nutrition choices since then; remaining consistent while increasing the difficulty is always the challenge to my mind. I will remain positive though and constantly remind myself of the quote above. “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” Over the last few months I have learned just how true this statement is and I hope you can really sit with it and apply it to your lives as well. For example, the same challenging workout can be great and awful for me depending on where my mind is at during it. When I have a positive mindset and outlook, that workout is fast, engaging and rewarding. On the flip side, when my mind is not where it should be, that workout is long, boring and even more difficult. Consistency is key for me however. I know whether I’m in the right headspace or not I still need to get through those daily workouts to build habits for the future me rather than give up and skip a day which turns into skipping multiple days and eventually quitting.
So today, let us remember two important things as we seek to better ourselves. First, it’s all about your positive mindset and knowing that you can do whatever you set your mind to. Secondly, consistency is what will build healthy habits for the rest of your life. We’ve sat in our bad habits for years and it has gotten us nowhere. But when we build new habits, we set us up for success for the rest of our lives. Lets get it!
